Ben jij ook fan van voedselbossen? Of heb je er nog nooit van gehoord? Houd jij je bezig met de waterproblematiek van de afgelopen tijd; de overstromingen en extreme droogte? Dit zijn allemaal goede redenen om naar het Voedselbos Festival Rotterdam te komen!

Een voedselbos is een landschap met door mensen aangeplante gewassen met een hoog aantal eetbare soorten. Het vormt als het ware een klein ecosysteem waarin alles met elkaar in verbinding staat. Het is een plek waar mens, dier en natuur harmonieus samenleven en elkaar ondersteunen. Hiermee kan een voedselbos bijdragen aan het oplossen van het milieuvraagstuk en het vergroenen van de stad.

Tijdens het festival kun je een rondleiding volgen door Voedselbos de Overtuin en ervaren wat een voedselbos voor lekkers te bieden heeft. Daarnaast zijn er kraampjes, muziek en verschillende workshops naar keuze. Het Voedselbos Festival is een initiatief van Coöperatie Ondergrond in samenwerking met het Groen Traineeship en wordt uitgevoerd door 14 enthousiaste trainees. Zet 25 en 26 juni in je agenda, want dit wil je niet missen!

About the Festival

Are you also a fan of food forests? Or have you perhaps never heard of them? Are you concerned about the water problems of today; floods and extreme droughts? Those are all good reasons to visit the Food Festival Rotterdam!

A food forest is a landscape with crops with a high amount of edible species planted by people. It forms its own small ecosystem so to speak, where everything is connected to each other. It’s a place where humans, animals and nature support each other and live together in harmony. This way, a food forest can contribute to solving environmental challenges and help to regreen the city.

During the festival you can take a tour through Food Forest de Overtuin and discover the kinds of good food that a food forest has to offer. You can visit stands, listen to some music and participate in different kinds of workshops. The Food Forest Festival is an initiative by Coöperatie Ondergrond in collaboration with Groen Traineeship and is executed by 14 enthusiastic trainees. Mark the 25th and 26th of June in your schedule because you do not want to miss this!

Hoe het werkt

Tijdens het festival zijn er verschillende dingen te doen en beleven. Tijdens het hoofdprogramma volg je een rondleiding door Voedselbos de Overtuin en kan je genieten van een proeverij, gemaakt van voornamelijk ingrediënten uit het voedsel. Je kunt kiezen uit meerdere tijdsloten.

Daarnaast kan je ook meedoen aan leuke workshops. Je kunt een ticket voor een losse workshop aanschaffen of je koopt een combiticket met meerdere workshops en/of in combinatie met het hoofdprogramma. Je moet voor zowel de workshops als het hoofdprogramma een tijdslot uitkiezen.

How it works

There are different things to do and experience during the festival. In the main program, you will get a guided tour through food forest De Overtuin, and you can enjoy a lovely tasting made from mostly food forest ingredients. You can choose from multiple timeslots.

There are also cool workshops that you can participate in. You can buy tickets for a single workshop or you can combine multiple workshops with or without the main program. You will have to select a timeslot for the workshops as well as the base program.

Wij zijn een groep van 14 trainees, allemaal erg enthousiast om te leren over voedselbossen en hoe we ze kunnen gebruiken voor ons eten. We kunnen niet wachten om je een introductie te geven tot voedselbossen en om je te laten zien hoe geweldig wij ze vinden!

Het Voedselbos Festival is een initiatief van Coöperatie Ondergrond in samenwerking met het Groen Traineeship. Coöperatie Ondergrond is een non-profit coöperatie van gelijkgestemde ondernemers die voedselbossen en voedselbos-achtige eetbare groene plekken in
en rond de stad ontwikkelen.

About us

We are a group of 14 trainees, eager to learn about food forests and how we can use them to provide food for us. We can’t wait to give you an introduction into food forests and to show you just how amazing we think they are!

The Food Forest Festival is an initiative from Coöperatie Ondergrond, organised in co-creation with the Groen Traineeship. Coöperatie Ondergrond is a non-profit cooperative of like-minded entrepreneurs that develop food forests and food forest-like edible green spaces
in and around the city.
